Sean was a great driver, as we were looking at a few sights, he gave us great and honest advice to make sure that we did not run over our 2 hour time limit, and obviously being tourists and unfamiliar with traffic times to get around, this was very helpful and polite. As a result, I will be using your Town car limo service again when I return in late january, as well as have already passed along your Limousine service in NYC company name to a friend who will be coming up to NYC within a few weeks and he will also be using your company.

Abc Concierge Recently had breakfast with our dear friend ANDREW MCCORMICK OF BUMBLE AND BUMBLE HAIRSTYLISTS. It was just in time because one of our brunch guests,Alice was in dire need of a new look and hair style. As Alice describes it, ” I just found out that ANDREW MCCORMICK would be having brunch with us and I would have gone to my regular salon that afternoon. So I’m hanging in Queens the other day, saying how I desperately need a new do for the holidays when my Russell’s friend Andrew offers to do a make-over for me. He grabbed his professional tools of the trade out of the car and we got to work. For two hours he cut, shaped, trimmed, styled, and everything else you can do to a head of hair and I LOVE how it looks. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted, only that I wanted a drastic change, and he came up with the coolest cut ever that I never would have thought of but that looks incredible. THANK YOU so much Andrew for doing such a fantastic job on my hair!!!

This weekend ABC NYC LIMO had the pleasure of driving Roberta Flack to a memorial service. WHAT A WOMAN! She told me that she knew she had the best driver from ABC NYC LIMO just to make me smile. Miss Flack is a classic example of a world renowned star who came from humble beginnings and is just like us. While Miss Flack discussed upcoming meetings and musical collaborations with her friend, Miss Flack then squeeled with delight at the mention of bagels with cream cheese and lox. But my greatest honor was when Miss Flack was working out her arrangement for the song she would sing at the service. and so…I got to hear Miss Flack sing IMAGINE in the back of my Town car. An experience I will never forget.

There is something indescribable about New York. The atmosphere, the people, the smell, the sounds. Nothing is as it is anywhere else. Sure, there is a Starbucks on nearly every corner. Sure, there are about a billion Pinkberrys and Red Mangos. Sure, there is an endless supply of bakeries. But in New York, a Starbucks is not just a Starbucks and a bakery isn’t just a bakery. No, in New York, everything is different.

I only got to spend three weeks in NYC, but I can’t shake that powerful pull the city has over me. It was enough just to drive around, letting Russell tell me all about the history of the architecture, especially which famous people went where. For me, NYC isn’t just about Times Square or Broadway, but what those places mean. With Russell, I got to not only see the sights, but learn a little bit more then what was on the surface. I got to experience NYC the way it ought to be experienced, through the eyes of a New Yorker. I experienced NYC traffic, I experienced NYC humor, I experienced NYC pride. True, what 17 year old girl, alone for three weeks in the Big Apple wouldn’t say she had the time of her life? But for me, it isn’t just a cliche, because for me I didn’t just live IN NYC, I lived NYC, and I owe a lot of that to Russell.So, with all that said. Thanks so much Russell for giving me the memories of a lifetime and the magic of a summer!

Henry Gibson was one of the nicest people I have ever driven. Mr. Gibson’s son, Jim Gibson, found ABC NYC LIMO on the internet and we had the pleasure of driving him during some work for an off Broadway show. Mr Gibson told me stories of the days of Laugh-in, and how he got into the business. He even told me how many times he appeared on The Tonight show, and his various career highlights. Mr. Gibson was such a beautiful person that one time, on the phone when I had to pick him up, MR.GIBSON was visiting a friend in Europe who had just been elevated to cardinal at the Vatican. And he talked to me on the phone for a long time. Me, Russell Figaredo, and I was just his driver!!! I will never forget this dear man and I am a better man for meeting him. All our hearts at ABC NYC SERVICES go out to his family.

Hi Russell. I wanted to write you a little note to tell you that Mr. Holson passed away last week. He was 83-years-old. He had back surgery about a year-and-a-half ago and never quite bounced back from it. One thing after another seemed to break down on him. For such a vibrant and active man, it was heart breaking to watch. I’m glad he’s out of pain and suffering, but I will miss him terribly. I worked for him for 26 years.

Mr. Holson very much enjoyed your services when he came to New York and would always smile and chuckle when he spoke of you. He was glad to know you were getting your own business up and running.Well, I wanted to write you and pass on this sad news. If ever I’m in New York, I will definitely get in touch with you!

Dear Russell,

Lovely speaking with you today! Thanks in advance for taking the time to look this over. I’m cc’ing Erin Feniger, the managing partner of Buzz Creative Group-the company responsible for developing the fantastic event that I’m thrilled to tell you more about. Hopefully we can work together on this and raise money for a great cause. I wanted to give you more information on the charity and the event itself. The event is a highly publicized celebrity fundraiser, Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine, and the cause is Scleroderma Research.

Scleroderma is a debilitating, degenerative disease of the connective tissues, often attacking the internal organs with life-threatening consequences. It strikes hundreds of thousands of people around the world -more people than muscular dystrophy and as many as multiple sclerosis. Too many lives are being taken and the critical funds needed for medical research are sorely lacking. The Scleroderma Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to raising funds to help improve treatments and, ultimately, find a cure.

Cool Comedy - Hot Cuisine is the Foundation’s single most successful fundraising and public awareness tool. The “cool comedy” portion of the evening spotlights performances from some of the world’s most celebrated comedians and musical guests, including Jon Stewart, Sheryl Crow, Ellen DeGeneres, Robin Williams, Ray Romano and many others. The “hot cuisine” is donated every year by celebrity chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, the Food Network’s Too Hot Tamales.

Guests attending this event include stars from the worlds of business, television, film, sports and music. Each supporter is an affluent individual or company - many paying $1,000 per seat, with some contributing $25,000 or more for a table of ten.

Our next event is scheduled for November 2009. As you might surmise, a high percentage of the funds raised are derived from a few exclusive high-ticket auction packages, during a ‘lively’ auction traditionally hosted by actor/comedian and SRF Board Member Bob Saget. Often times, the packages raise upwards of $25,000 each. Due the exclusive nature of this event, we try to develop unique experiences that aren’t easily purchased through regular channels. Two of our board members who are actively involved in the planning process are NBC Universal’s Jeff and Caryn Zucker, who championed the idea of a NYC Makeover Package. This entails driving around town with Celebrity Stylist David Evangelista and our winning bidder, and heading to various fashion showrooms and salons for a makeover. Obviously, a car and driver is necessary to make this package work!

Russell, we’d be thrilled if you would consider donating a car and driver for the winning bidder of this fantastic NYC Makeover Auction package.

I am hopeful that you will join forces with us so we can make this package truly unforgettable and high-end! This will undoubtedly be one of the premier packages of the evening, raising a lot of attention to the captive audience of extremely influential and affluent guests. We also have other packages that are NYC-centric that would require a car and driver as well, so if you’re interested in being a part of more than one auction package, that would be great!

We understand that this is an enormous request and we absolutely appreciate your looking over this material and considering it!

In appreciation of your generosity, the Foundation would be pleased to offer on-screen exposure on two giant display screens and recognition in the commemorative program book. “Me?” he smiled, “I’m Fred Astaire.”

The actor Robert Loggia was in my car a few times last year. He had told me about his role in “An Officer and a Gentleman” and especially his role in the HBO series, “The Sopranos”, and of course his T.V. series, “Mancuso F.B.I.”

He told me that he always felt bad about the way they edited Officer and a Gentleman, because at the end, he had actually attended Zach’s graduation from officer’s training school, which would have softened his character. But they cut out that scene, which left the father as a less than likeable father figure.

He loved Mancuso F.B.I because he felt the central character played an important role throughout the show. But then the network felt that he needed a sidekick, and so they cast a female agent to shore up ratings, and the series folded.

His best comment was left for the Soprano’s. He was cast as an aging mobster named Feech Lamanna recently freed from the commission racketeering prosecutions of the 1980’s. He really didn’t have much to say about the actual show or role he played, but he commented on modern pop culture in that ” You are not allowed to portray a cheap dirty money lending Jewish character, nor are you allowed to portray a drunken Irish slob, or, a bucktoothed, thick glasses Japanese rat, without drawing some kind of fire for the stereotype you are portraying. But it’s perfectly acceptable to portray an Italian criminal wiseguy made member of the Mafia, which comprises probably less than 1% of the Italian American population. Then he made me laugh when he concluded, “Like a whore, I jumped at it”!

In the beginning of my career when I was working with a limo broker (Limo Link), I had Phil Collins and his assistant in my Mercedes Benz. We drove down Broadway, stopped at Times Square for a meeting. Mr. Collins did not speak much but his assistant was very nice. He sat with me on the front and was enjoying the traffic of New York City. They had various errands to run and people to see throughout the city, and was in and out of the car. They were very pleased with my service.
